Hello lezard; The following thread discusses setting up a S7 communication between a TIA Portal program and a Simatic Manager program, but over Profinet. How to make S7-connection between TIA and V5.5 .. The idea applies also to Profibus, or Industrial Ethernet. since PUT/GER are a server/client application, only one of the CPU programs need to be configured with an "Unspecified Connection" (only on the client); the server needs no configuration or programming. The PUT and GET blocks are also programmed only on the client. Look at the information and link provided by Huggy and fritz in the thread avbove, you should be able to set your client up properly. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

S7 communication is not available on the CM1242-5. It is available on CM1243-5. |

Hello Dan; Thank you for your comment. You are quite right. My apologies to lezard, with a CM 1242-5 you can only use Profibus slave configuration, so the CPU 314c-2DP must be a Profibus master if you want to establish data exchanges between the 2 systems. Look at the following discussion for indications: how to configure s7-300 and s7.1200 communication through Profibus if I have CM1242-5 module? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
