Hello coopdegrace; As you can see from Umencho's suggested link, FC1 and FC2 (DP_SEND/RECV) are used when the CP 342-5 is trying to establish master-slave cyclic communications (with DP-slaves in the field). You could implement exchanges that way between the PLCs, setting one of the CP 342-5s as a DP-slave. But the easiest way is to setup the CPs for master-master acyclic communications that allow the CPUs to exchange data directly over Profibus-FDL, using AG_SEND and AG_RECV blocks.. The following FAQ will give you information on the FDL protocol and its advantages; you will also find at the bottom of the thread a link to a sample program that can help you devise your own application. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/26098555 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
