S7 Ethernet Comms From Mainframe

JimR Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I'm looking for a spec to communicate with an S7 Ethernet sytem- I need to read & write a range of registers (150 or so) from a Stratus VOS. I would especially like to see sample packet traces of reads & writes. I need to talk to: CPU 313C Ethernet module CP 343-1 CPU 414Ethernet module CP 443-1 Can anyone tell me where to get started? We have a driver for the Siemens 3964R protocol, but I don't think this will work. -Thanks, -JimR

Because than you can use: - Softnet S7 Lean to Put / Get Data from both PLCs. This is easily made by OPC Server calls... if possible. Here you do not nee to do anything on the PLC. - Softnet S7 Lean with ISO Transport or ISO on TCP with Fetch / Write, also with OPC Server but in this case you have to configure special Connections (one Fetch and one Write)on the S7 CPU. and... last but not least, - Winsock with TCP over Fetch / Write but here you have to program a lot, the Header used in the S7 are explained in the Manual: S7-CPs for Industrial Ethernet Configuring and Commissioning See Appendix E. JimR Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	OPC is not an option because the mainframe does not run any versionofWindows - XP/Vista or otherwise. I don't mind the programming, as long as I know what I need to send to the PLC.
