S7 upgrade to V5.4 sp5

I have downloaded the current version available from Siemens site . My question is do I need to remove the license from the Hard disk? . I donot know how the UCL is transferred. Can I upgrade it from the hard disk (D-partition) in windows mode as my CD drive do not work properly by running set up programme? Best regards,

billwest Posts: 510 Rating: (117)	I have not worked with UCL's but I have recently upgraded Step 7 V5.4 to SP5. With the standard license, I did not have to do anything since it was an Service Pack and the license did not change. Like you I downloaded the Service Pack and I ran the update from a USB drive instead of a CD/DVD. The installation was completed successfully
