s71200/1500 control vfd via profinet (speed reference)

Dear all

I want to use Telegram 1 (Profinet) to control VFD speed reference (I want to input the speed reference from HMI to PLC and finally transfer this reference to VFD through Profinet)

I already program to run and control the VFD direction, -------Done

but I just don’t know how to send this reference speed to VFD.-----???

Control Word 1 start from QW256

Status Word 1 start from IW256

Hi,

easiest way is to use the SINA_SPEED FB in your PLC program. With this one you can enable the drive and give your speed setpoint via standard telegram 1.

What the FB does automatically is to normalize the speed setpoint. I guess this is what you are asking for. The speed is not simply transferred as a real rpm value - it is a normalized value, depending on the speed reference in the drive (p2000). That's why you have to set up the speed reference value to the FB. From this value and your wanted speed setpoint the FB will calculate the correct value that needs to be send to the drive.
