Hello, IO devices are distrbuted periphery devices like ET200S, ... Io devices are comparable with DP slaves on Profibus, but on Profinet. With FW2.x the CPU can be controller of 8 decentralized IO devices With FW3, the CPU supports up to 16. The communication is cyclic, and full managed by the operating system. It has nothing to do with S7 connections. |
