S71200 with a Profibus card CM1242-5 (Slave) which must communicate with an S7300 CPU

eScardigno Member Joined: 7/2/2010 Last visit: 4/7/2023 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I am configuring an S71200 with a Profibus card CM1242-5 (Slave) which must communicate with an S7300 CPU (Master). To be noted that the S7300 must be programmed by another person to whom I will only provide the Profibus address and I / O mapping. Therefore I configured in TIA Portal V14 regarding the CM1242, the DP slave operating mode, not assigned to any DP master, the Profibus address 10 and finally I configured 2 transfer areas one for the inputs and one for the outputs ( both by 12 bytes). To make a test that everything worked I created a test project in STEP7 5.5 with a CPU 313C-2DP configured Master DP. I downloaded the GSD file related to the CM 1242-5 and added it as a slave on the Profibus network. Here I have configured the transfer areas as previously done (always 12 bytes for both input and output), reversing the insertion order as specified by the various guides. I downloaded everything and connected. Moral of the story does not work anything. Pls save it as txt file and attach here. You can also attach in next post zip file with screenshots from your HW cfg, pls attach more screenshots from 300 and also from 1200 cfg. Pls keep in mind that (probably, don't know if you incorporated this) in case of use CM/CP card (in this case CM 1242-5) you need use comm blocks in your Slave (S7-1200) to properly exchange data between both stations.
