When I try and compile it I get errors from the HMI side saying the plc Tags are invalid, so it wont compile. I have tried it in simulation and connected to the hmi. Please help as I'm not sure what to try next. I am Using V13 SP1 of TIA.

I understand the program, but I have never had this tag issue before so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you check the "connections" in HMI.

Most probably, you would have renamed, or it could have been edited during upgrade.

The tags are mapped directly to the PLC Logic by using the integrated connection feature.

You will have to remap them by double clicking the red area and then searching for the tag it was initially referenced to.
