a S7 1214c DC/DC/DC can do 16 connection maximum and will support S7 Communication.

You should compare your PLC with the Data Sheet your the PLC.

Did you get this to work? I have four S7 1200s that I am trying to move data between using get/put through a 1243 module. I cant say its the module because I tried the same configuration through the LAN using a sequencer and nothing wanted to connect.

Why are you not using the built-in Ethernet port?

Does that module handle S7 communications?

I see primary set checkbox on CP1243-1 for enabling S7 communication, other settings depends to Client or Server side.
