Hello mucha; Canèt help you with training videos. Although I have seen them occasionnaly on the web, I have always had the chance to learn by actually working on projects, and banging my head on brick walls until I got a feel for the hardware and software. You could look at the following tutorials provided by Siemens, as a first step in working with S7-300 CPUs: Along with the manuals, Online Help and example programs provided with Step 7 (and this forum) you should have a great basis for working on the S7 CPUs. https://www.automation.siemens.com/fea/html_76/down_module.htm If price is a problem, you could use Step 7 Lite, which comes in a free downloadable version, for your first steps, programming a S7-300 CPUwithout networking and eithout intelligent modules (no CPs, no FMs). . http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/39596695 Even with its limitations (see the following link), Step 7 Lite will give you enough tools for your initiation http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/31031123 For starters, you could purchase a PLCSIM licence to simulate a real CPU and work with your programs, but eventually I strongly suggest you try with a small test CPU so you get used to the physical requirements of the S7 CPUs.
Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello mucha You can also download the training videos instead of ordering (and waiting) for the DVD. Below is a link for one of them (which itself contains the links to more videos): The Basic Languages LAD, FBD, STL training video On top of that, there are a number of so called "screencast tutorials" available for free which you can download from the link below (which also has additionallinks to the above mentioned training videos in it): SIMATIC Screencast Tutorials I hope this helps |
Cheers |

Hello mucha,
It's a pleasure to have you here in forum.
I think you should contactSiemens-South Africa since it's the nearest to you. As suggested before, I think it will be better for you to purchase PLCsim. You can also have some fun with the virtual SIMATIC lab. Best regards. H-H |
