S7300 cpu 314 c2 dp integrated analog I/O configuration

freeze12 Posts: 36 Rating: (0)	Dear all It has been a great experience since I got registered on this forum. I have learnt many new useful things here. Many of my problems have been solved, for which I am very thankful. Now, I want to configure the Integrated analog I/O of "s7300 cpu 314c2 dp" plc. Card reads as "AI5/AO2". The problem is that I have no back ground knowledge of this analog thing. So can you guys please help me where to start? How to configure it in software? How to do analog I/O addressing? What are channels in analog I/O? Can i use dummy signal source for testing purposes? At the time I would appreciate all the help I can get. Regards Freeze

How to do analog I/O addressing? What are channels in analog I/O? Can i use dummy signal source for testing purposes? Start with manual, there you will find how to connect the onboard i/o. You don't have to configure the onboard i/o, that's already done because it's a compact CPU. You can however change the configuration, but better leave it as it is. Analog inputs are read as PIW xxx , outputs are addressed PQW xxx, you will find the xxx in the hardware config. Channels are the analog inputs/outputs, channel 1 is your 1st analog input. Yes, you can use i.e. a 9 V battery if analog input is 0-10V (default setting) To process the analog value you may need to scale the analog input signal. freeze12 Posts: 36 Rating: (0)	Dear Marcjan Here is the thing I wanted to ask in addressing. The screen shots you posted had input address started from 752 and ended at 761. I could not understand if thee are 5 inputs then how do we interpret these addresses. I mean what is address of first input, what for second 2nd so on. Same for output. Is it so because they are considered as 2 bytes? Regards Freeze

Marcjan Platinum Expert Joined: 4/22/2010 Last visit: 5/3/2024 Posts: 5697 Rating: (715)	Hello, The inputs are 2 bytes long (word) So first input is PIW 752 ; byte 752 and 753 2nd PIW 754 3rd PIW 756 4th PIW 758 5th PIW 760 ; byte 760 and 761 (last byte in adressing) So first output is PQW 752 2nd PQW 754 3rd PQW 756 4th PQW 758 5th PQW 760 Regards, Marcjan

freeze12 Posts: 36 Rating: (0)	Dear Marcjan Thankyou very much for your help. I have confogured the analog input. There is a little problem in selecting high and low limits of fc105. I provided the 0-10v source at the input, high limit was 10 and low was set to 0. But the actual reading the s7 online window showed has the difference of 2 volts. Is there any special criteria for selecting the limits? Also I am having little trouble in configuring the analog outputs. Can you help me with this? I would be waiting for your reply. Regards Freeze

Value of you sensor, i.e. If you have a pressure sensor (0-10v) 0 to 250bar, the high limit shoul be set 250.0 The output of fc105 is 0.0 to 250.0 What problems do you have with the outputs? freeze12 Posts: 36 Rating: (0)	Thankyou for your quick reply Marcjan For the testing purpose i used a dc power supply 0-10v. when I adjusted the limits of fc105 between 0-100, plc was reading (7 volt as 70) and (3 volts as 30), in a correct ratio. But when I set the limits of fc105 between 0-10, it read (7 as 5) and (3 as 1). So that was the question basically if there is any special criteria for setting the limits? As for as output is concerned, is there any special block to configure it like the input. I want to generate 4-20mA signal at the output for 0-10v change at the input. Can you please provide me with the ladder diagram explanation for this. or how I do this? Regards Freeze
