S7300 with RSView32 SCADA???

sundar Posts: 100 Rating: (2)	Hi to all. I am having S7300 CPU 314-IFM . Software- Step7 v5.4 Communication cable---- PC Adapter USB(6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0) Scada---- RSView32 How can i communicate plc with rsview scada. Is there any other hardware or software need to establish the communication.

Then you should look at the help files and manuals of this OPC server and find out how to make connection. If you will use SIMATIC.NET then you'll find lots of manuals and FAQ in this site and in manuals that comes with server. On the other side is OPC client and this is your SCADA system. Here you must look for manuals or as support at RSView developers.

Hello sundar; There is no such manual available, as these products come from 2 different manufacturers you will have to study documentation from both sides. - from the Rockwell side, RSView 32 has an integrated OPC client, as you can see from the following extract form the RSView 32 User Manual (vw32-um001_en_e.pdf), that you will have to locate in Rockwell's Literature site: http://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/public/documents/webassets/browse_category.hcst OPC servers provide a way to connect an RSView32 station (the OPC client) to: communication devices, using RSLinx® as an OPC server third-party communication devices, using vendor-specific or thirdparty OPC servers (such as KEPServerEnterprise™, Siemens, or Modicon®) -from the Siemens side, you will have to learn how to setup the Simatic Net OPC server (this is the Siemens server refered to by the Rockwell manual), and you will have to license it properly. Beware that the Siemens OPC server comes in many flavours (Profibus, IE) and that you have to find a connectivity supported by RSView 32 in order to connect the PLC and the SCADA correctly. If you are not familiar with the basics on OPC communications, I suggest you look at the documentation available on the OPC Foundation site (http://www.opcfoundation.org/) , under Downloads and Support. First the OPC interface is universal, so it isindependent what Protocol you use you have always the same interface to the Client.Whatreally matters is the question which protocol fits the requirements your system needs. For exampleif you need access to the complete PLC you usually use the S7-Protocol. The second point is the used interface. It was mentioned earlier that a USB Adaptor is available. As we all know the USB Adaptor is not supported by the SIMATIC NET OPC Server at all. So there would have to be chosen which solution fits most. Personally I favor the Ethernet solution with a simple Ethernet NIC on PC and a CP 343-1 Lean on the PLC. It is mostly the cheapest and fastest way to have complete access to the PLC. But this is up to the developer. Best regards J_Bell

But that method they are CP5611 Profibus Card. Can i establish communication using PC ADPTER USB (6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0) instead of CP5611 Prifibus card. http://61.37.246.137/TECH/html/t001110.htm
