I dont know UDP and I must learn untill that time. I have some questions; 1- Can I simulate s7400-PC or S7400-S7400 udp communication on plcsim or anything else? 2- Do you have sample programs between s7400 and pc udp communication? 3- Program will be written in SCL language, how can I find UDP sample program in SCL? 4- may be you have any idea how I can learn ?

I recommend to check these FAQs: How do you configure a UDP connection for data exchange between S7-300 and/or S7-400 by way of Industrial Ethernet CPs? How do you check a TCP or UDP connection if there is no communication partner? Regards, Kaulquappe

The programs are very similar. because same process and same person had written them. so I want to compare the programs, this method may be solution for me. How can I compare 2 offline programs? The most part of the programs are written SCL.

Duris_I Diamond Expert Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 2/24/2025 Posts: 10832 Rating: (836)	Hello, you have already answer from Kaulquappe. We can speculate maybe about some simulation with f.ex. TIA v14 Professional and PLCSIM Advanced which can simulate also UDP communication (but new products you need buy), but only S7-1500 family. In this case is big difference and practically unpossible correctly simulate your situation because of different HWs and of course comm blocks. You can send support request of course but I doubt that they will give you perfect expected solution. Maybe you can simulate your code generally as it can be with your PLCSIM and in steps with UDP you can simulate some your PC to PC UDP communication with required stops in PLC code or make simple bit stops in your code and set some buffers with bytes as is expected to have filled with communication.

I found a file which name is "SIMATIC Engineering Tools S7-PLCSIM V5.4 Operating Manual". I caught a point in the document so I captured and add to attached. you can see it written some thing about PLCSIM support CP card only for S7-400. Attachment cp.JPG (150 Downloads)

This doesn't have nothing to do with communication, it only describe access limitation to periphral I/O if they are attached via some CP card. Look, try use Google, maybe there exists some 3-rd party cooperation SW which can maybe add some other functionalities.
