S7400 R system

Hi,
Good Afternoon,

Please find the system config attached proposed for a S7400 R system. Here the client requires redundancy over the communication cable.I am using the intel network cards for providing redundancy of the communication cable.
with this configuration is the redundancy over the network can be given successfully. I doubt that the CPU will not switchover incase when the communication cable breaks.
Please suggest.

Yes it is possible to switch over the CPU's with the communication cable failure signal from the WinCC.

In R-system, it is possible to switch over the R-system CPU’s by ‘SWR’ standard block input.

For Ex:

Set a bit in (Status Bit) one of the CPU (CPU1) and Reset the same bit in other CPU (CPU2).

If the CPU1 communication cable breaks and in the WinCC you will “Status Bit” as 0.

Set another bit from WinCC (“Switch over Bit”), if the “Status Bit = 0” and use the same in the PLC logic to switch over from CPU1 to CPU2.
