S7416-2dp and Danfoss VLT5000: problem with SFC15

I made a testproject with S7416-2dp and Danfoss VLT5000. I created a DB with controlword and frequency and statusword and actualfrequency. When I try to write the controlword to the drive, nothing happens.... The funny thing is, that when I start/stop the drive manually, the statusword changes... I cannot seem to write the controlword and frequency to the drive.. I posted a few pictures which clarify theconfiguration. The drive has the following parameters: Protocol PRofibus DP Bit10 = 1 CTW is active PPO Type 5 selected Drive in remote mode Attachment VLT5000.zip (237 Downloads)

(Why are you not directly accessing the PIP area?I think it is the better way to read\write dataconsistentlyand cyclically to your DP slave with the 400 CPUs.) Anyway, getting back to your question, check whether you have removed the PPO area of the drive from PIP image of the CPU. (doble click on the drive in your HW config ) By default it is assigned. It seems you have not removed the assignment. If it is assigned, then (I assume) whatever you write using SFC15 is overwritten by the PIP image. Hence your intended outputs are never written to the drive.

The drives are going to work with PID control and other loops and will not only be used for start/stop/reset. The drives are integrated into pcs7, 21 of them. I'll post the results.. Thxxx

As for the Process image, If I click the input/output modules that are in my drive, I see that the process image isn't selected. It's grey, so I can't select anything. The only thing i can find in the cpu is : update OB1 cyclically which is checked...

The drives are connected at profibus master 2: IM467 module. Currently, i made a testproject in simatic with a simple db/fc.. my system is pcs7 7.1 And yeah the cpu need to be replaced...to be compatible with 7.1.

Since your are going to use a new CPU, you can then directly then use PIP partitions suitably and write data consistently. With this old CPU, I would suggest that assign your Drives IO addresses outside the Process Image and then use SFC15. Let us know if it worked.

I'm gonna try this tomorrow and hopefully it is working. Since the CPU is going to be replaced, I must use PIP..according to you and help files If I have a drive and I have defined my inputs and outputs, I can address them to a PIP area, for example: TPA3. Then I can use normal commands like: L 47F T PIW0 (if word0 is my start input address and defines my Controlword) L 4000 T PIW2 (if word 2 is my frequency) And do not have to use any SFC commands.... these are only needed in case of not using the PIP area. Correct me if i'm wrong... Thankssss

And PIW is for input word ;) ) So the above instructions will write to your process image. The process image will then update the periphery as defined in CPU properties. Oreca And do not have to use any SFC commands.... these are only needed in case of not using the PIP area. In this case I don't think you need to use SFC commands. SFC will be needed if you want to read or write more than 4 bytes of data to output area which is not within the process image. (I mean till 4 bytes, you can always use the command likeT PQD 1024)
