S7TConfig System Cycle Clocks

Garfield69 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi All, I have an 317T processor with V4.1 Technology. This is controlling two S120 CU320's with 9 electrical servo axis between them and also 14 hydraulic servo axis controlled byfour IM174 profibus modules. Each of the hydraulic axis are also using a camdisk technology object. This is all communication over Profibus DP Drive at 12 Mbps. I am configuring this using S7TConfig (see attachment). I am having trouble setting the system clocks to get a stable system, I have increased my bus cycle clock (in hardware config) to 3.5ms, but my system will still crash when I try to enable all the axis. Am I best to keep increasing the bus cycle clock? Or should I look at changing the "servo" or "IPO" settings? I am hoping someone here has experience with multiple axis and can say if they would expect 3.5ms to be too small for this size system or not. Attachment S7TConfig.JPG (81 Downloads)

Garfield69 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi Cristoph, Thanks for the reply. By crashing I mean the processor is faulting, I believe it is tripping out on the "job monitoring time". As I enable the axis one by one using MC_Power, if I monitor the CmdLoopDuration and MaxLoopDuration in my MC_Device DB (see attached), it remains fairly stable until it starts to increase slightly, then I enable one more axis (around 20-21 out of 24 of them at this stage) and the times skyrocket and the processor faults. If I reduced my IPO time to a factor of 2 instead of 3 would this not make matters worse? I have not had a chance to make any changes yet as I only get certain times I can enable all the axis safely.
