I have some questions trying to communicate a 1516F-3 with a 1512SP-F:

IO Controller: 1512. Programmed in TIA v14

I-Device: 1516 on interface X2 (interface X1 with its own devices). Programmed in TIA v15

I have read the example pdf Entry-ID: 109478798, V2.0, 11/2016, where there are two CPUs with two PN Interfaces, but in this case, the 1512SP-F has only one PN Interface. I will use dummy CPUs in both projects.

1st: Is this configuration possible?

2nd: Can I use the same range of F-Address in both CPUs, as far as the F-inputs and F-outputs are not on the same IO Controller?

I think you can use a scalance for the two additional CPUs which should communicate with the described both S7-1500 CPUs.

Consider, all CPUs in this PROFINET croup should be loaded with the same STEP 7 (TIA Portal) version (example V15). Otherwise there will be a compatibility problem.

This is a machine with 2 PLCs (1512SP-F and 1516F-3PN/DP). Each one is programmed by different companies as separate Tia Portal Projects. Even more, one is on Tiav14 and the other in Tiav15 (if this is a problem, we can upgrade the first from v14 to v15).

Both PLCs have their own devices (frequency converters, ET200s, safety inputs and outputs...). They must work coordinated.

We want to communicate in a safe way the emergency stops, door switches from the first plc to the second, and the same from the second to the first.

I found the pdf that explains how to use SENDP and RCVDP and how to configure a "dummy PLC" in each project with the configuration of the partner PLC. In the example, there are two PLCs 1516F-3PN/DP, so each one has 2 PN Interfaces and they can use the first one as IO Controller for their own devices and the second to do the safety communication. To do this, you have to configure one of the PLCs as IO Controller and the other as I-device and the configure the F-CD communication.

The point is that we don't know if it is possible to do something similar but with the hardware we have. You can find attached a picture of 1512SP-F hardware with the Dummy PLC representing the 1516F PLC. In the other project, we have added a Dummy PLC representing the 1512SP-F.

We have followed the manuals, and apparently the communication is done but we are receiving the RetVal = 8093. We have checked the LADDR and we did not found problems... We don't know what can we do... Any idea?
