A safety interlock has to be connected directly to the drive!!! Normal a interlock can be delayed by some seconds. This time can be used to stop the material axis. Is material axis in stop rotary knife is although stopped (camming!). After standstill rotary knife application can be put into interrupted mode and the drives can be switched off. Please have a look into Manual 1 Rotary-Knife Application page 17! b) Add Physical Push bottons ( DIs ) instead of Soft commands for selecting various modes of Rotary Cutter and Flying shear. The interface between push-buttons and standard application function block has to be done be users application. Please have a look to Manual 1 chapter 5 ff
