Safety Status in Simotion

SiforumUser Experienced Member Joined: 1/30/2007 Last visit: 3/6/2025 Posts: 89 Rating: (5)	I'm using Profisafe for the S120 drives and would like to read the S_STW (safety status word) in the drive which is already being transferred from Sinamics to Simotion in the safety telegram. Is there a way to symbolically create an entry in the Address list for this, or do i have to manually enter the address from the safety telegram? The attachment shows the data for which I'd like to create a variable in the Address List. What I'm trying to do is read the status of the Safe Off in the Simotion program. Since this data is already being sent up to Simotion, I'd rather not create extra data in the telegram, and would like to address it symbollically, rather than "manually". Thanks. To work with this telegram you must use a Simatic F-CPU to communicate with the SINAMICS trough SIMOTION. The SIMOTION work as a safety proxy between the safety plc and the drive. It contains also a small overview in chapter 4.9 about the displaying of safety functions in simotion. Another document is containing more informations about the axis technolgy object of a simotion itself:

What I want to do is read the status of the safe torque off in the Simotion program and not add an extre free telegram. Is this possible? Thanks for the responses, I appreciate it.

If you use only the basis functions in the drive you can't activate the safety data block on the axis to get the access to the control/status words. Regards Christoph
