Safety with S7-1500R/H

Hello SIOS Forum Community.

With the new CPU S7-1518HFS7-1518HF, a highly available S7-1500 CPU with integrated safety functionality is available for the first time. This CPU combines the established safety function of the S7-1500F CPUs with the high availability of an S7-1500H (previously the S7-1517H).

The deployment of the S7-1518HF CPU requires STEP7 V17.

For the other redundant S7-1500 controllers (1513R, 1515R, 1517H), it is still possible to realise fault security via an additional F-CPU.

There are various options for coupling this F-CPU to the S7-1500R/H:

• Connection as a PROFINET i-Device
• Coupling via PN/PN coupler
• Coupling via Open User Communication
