DESCRIPTION:

Firmware version 3.4.29 for the following S7-1200 communication modules is available for download:

• CP 1242-7 GPRS V2 (6GK7242-7KX31-0XE0)
• CP 1243-7 LTE EU   (6GK7243-7KX30-0XE0)
• CP 1243-7 LTE US   (6GK7243-7SX30-0XE0)
• CP 1243-1                  (6GK7243-1BX30-0XE0)
• CP 1243-8 IRC          (6GK7243-8RX30-0XE0)

The firmware contains general product quality improvements and is used to upgrade devices of the above-mentioned products that are already in use.

In particular, the firmware contains the following changes:

Feature Enhancements:

• For Time Sync Options, now also the 'No Partner' selection is a valid option for a time source.
• Station status events for DNP3 and IEC
• Secure authentication (SA) for IEC 60870-5-104
• Selection of data points that are acquired with high priority
• When the CP starts up, it sends a DNP3 restart flag (internal indication). Additionally, it sends the flag when the S7 CPU enters RUN mode.
• Configurable stopping of DNP3 communication at CPU stop
• The module sends the restart flag once when the S7 PLC - CPU enters RUN mode.
• The module reports the partner status of UDP peer-to-peer communications.
• For IEC60870 and DNP3 protocol, CP can have more than one partner for time sync when encountering a fallback situation.

Bugfixes:

• Fixed a problem, where DNP3 connection with master is not being established in peer to peer connection
• Fixed a problem where Device keeps sending poll messages after message retry counter run down for UDP peer to peer connections.
• Partner status is not being initialized correctly after TIA project download.
• CP sends a request to enable Spontaneous Messages in DNP3 peer-to-peer communications with another partner.
• Fixed a problem where CP does not establish a peer-to-peer connection with a third party partner.
• CP 1243-7:  Sporadically missing data and IP traffic via the mobile interface is fixed
• CP1243-7 : Sporadically connection loses while roaming fixed
• Fixed a problem where connection of the CP 1200 is not being established through SINAUT ST7 over Ethernet by establishing an MSC connection
• Added additional Error message in the device-specific events for connection states.
• Sporadic  “Removal of HW not permitted” error because of SNMP module fixed

To configure the modules with firmware 3.4, TIA Portal Step7 V18 Update 2 (or later) must be used.

The firmware is only compatible with devices of the above products that have hardware version 2 or newer.
