Why can't Siemens make the sample image for Debian 11 available. Building from github is an arduous process filled with many hurdles when trying to build from the example Debian 10 image (Docker, user set up, legacy iptables, unable to find net_prio). If the hardware isn't changing, we make us jump through hoops ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Debian 11 has only been released 4 days ago. Nevertheless, we do have a port to it already available, see https://github.com/siemens/meta-iot2050/commits/jan/bullseye. This cannot be an official release yet, given the time frame. The next-but-one example image will use it, though. So, yes, you do need to build your own image so far (or use the github CI artifacts). If you have any problems with doing that in a VM or natively on a standard Linux distro, please report them. Generally, the builder setup is rather simple for most people, but there might be some corner cases remaining that require additional documentation. |
