Denilson Pegaia Platinum Expert Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 4/21/2025 Posts: 4406 Rating: (1481)	Hi, The manual “SIMATIC S7-1500 Structure and Use of the CPU Memory”( http://support.automation.siemens.com/BR/view/en/59193101) on Chapter 3.2.4 Shows a sample project for Data Log. Here I attached this sample project as V12 project. I do the follow changes: 1 - I give more representative names for auxiliary variables (for example Tag_4 => Busy_Signal) 2 - I change the name of the variable to (to be uniform with other tags names). 3 - I include the Block Monitoring for supervise the execution of the DataLog blocks (http://support.automation.siemens.com/BR/view/en/54377291) 4 - I add watch tables to operate. Petr1234 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello, i using CPU 1511-1 PN and Version V12 TIAPORTAL and using your example. Everything worked fine and I get nice results in csv file. But now i can´t create new csv file. I nothing changed in my project and i don´t now where is problem. Thank you Petr

Peter cowman Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hi Petr, I think you will find the solution to be quite simple, have you changed the name of the file you are trying to create, if you are using the same name you will beunable to create a new csv file. I hope thissolves your problem, if not please let me know and I will send you a project containing a function block I have written for it. Regards The Cowmanator.

My problem is that I am only able to do this once. After creating a datalog, writing in it and closing it, I am not able to create a second datalog. I tried to use DataLogNewFile but it doesn't work. For my project I want to create a new datalog every month and store data in it. The PLC should automaticallyassign a new different name forevery datalog. Anybody knows how tosolve my problem? BDNNN Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello, I copied the blocks from your project into mine. I adjusted the parameters in the My_Datalog_Vars DB so the data of my project is stored in the Datalog. As a test, I just force the create_trigger and write_triggeron and off.The status/ error indication stays constant after using the block 1 time. CreateStatus: 16#7000=> No job processing active. In the enclosure you can find my program. The creation of a new (more then 1) Datalog also didn't work before I inserted Network 5 in OB1. The program is created for energy measurement. Hello Cowmanator,

I'm having the same problem as Petr. Is it possible to send me the program with the functionblock that automatically creates a new name for the csvfile you are trying to create?
In that fashion I am able to create more than just 1 csv file.
Now if I want to create another dataLog; the dataLogCreate block gives me the error:
8093 Data log already exists
