hi, firstly have a thorogh look at themanual. Secondly select the router option in the hardware configuration and assign the IP address of the local port of the scalance modem to it. Have sim cards with static IP addresses with the necessary data packages(with dynamic addresses also it works but you need to refer further for that). Do the configurations for the modem as mentioned in the manual. Now create logical connections in the netpro between the two stations with the ip address and port address matching with the modem configuration and use the necessary communication blocks(agsend/agreceive) and it will simply work.

Hello, here http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/78389746 you find a "Getting Started" for the SCALANCE M-800. It describes and shows clearly, how to use the M874 in WAN, for VPN etc... Greetings! |

Dear all, Thank you very much for your response. I amworking on a Project having S7 300 soft redundant system (CPU 315 2 PN/DP). I have to now incorporate Scalance M874-2 GSM modem in this system. I have gone through the manual (http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/78389746) and followed the step by step procedure for WBM configuration. I have downloaded the updated firmware file and uploaded it into the GSM Modem. Now when I am trying to establish a connection using the initial configuration settings provided in the manual am unable to get connection status, the response is“Connection Status- No Connection”.I tried it on both the modems M874-2 & M874-3. The L and SC LEDs are ON & Green but Q LED is off.Since the SIM card is not having any activation PIN, we are using 0000 as PIN code., is there any setting or any additional software required for the GSM Modem? I just want to send Alarm messages (SMS service only) in our application. Please provide me the necessary settings required for the connection establishment. I shall be grateful to you for your assistance. @N$@r! |

Dear RBM, Yes, the issue has solved. I followed the steps provided in the manual (GS_SCALANCE-M87x_76- https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/78389746/simatic-net-industrial-remote-communication-remote-networks-scalance-m-800-getting-started-getting-started?dti=0&lc=en-WW). We have to update the Firmware. We require SIM PIN with APN username and Password settings and need to write PLC Program for SMS. Please find the enclosed PLC Program for the same.
