Scalance X204-2 Port 5

Ammy Platinum Member Joined: 4/19/2008 Last visit: 11/21/2024 Posts: 1525 Rating: (159)	Hi Experts, I want Help on Scalance X204-2 6GK5204-2BB10-2AA3, When I connect 2 X204-2 port 5 with BFOC (ST) FC but on Scalance both the port 5 LEDis not Showing any thing, 1. Should I connect port 6 of both Scalance, (I try but not working) 2. Is there any configuration done for this in Scalance? 3. for this application I required C-pluge in Scalance? Please Help me out

If you haven't done the intial setup/config yet (i.e. switch is straight out of the box), I can honestly not tell you what the behaviour ofthe FO or RJ45 ports would be (I never tried this). Just in case you haven't done the intial setup yet, here is the link to the manual: Industrial Ethernet Switches SCALANCE X-200 / XF-200 Operating Instructions I also recommend that you install and use the Primary Setup Tool for the intial setup (Step 7 or DHCP can be used too, but the PST is a nice tool to have anyhow). In case you don't have it yet, the PSTwill be on the CD that came with the Switch, but the latest version can also be downloaded here: Primary Setup Tool (PST) As for your other questions: Ammy 1. Should I connect port 6 of both Scalance, (I try but not working) Either should be fine unless you disabled one or the other in the configuration Ammy 2. Is there any configuration done for this in Scalance? Yes, but it is basically limited to enable/disable the ports Ammy 3. for this application I required C-pluge in Scalance? No, C-Plug is an optional extra who's purpose is to make the replacement of a faulty device easier. I hope this helps

Did you connect the send port to the receiving port of the other device? Check the arrows printed on the housing near the ports. The software Fritz is talking about is the Web Based Manager. This can be reach by using for example Internet Explorer when you give in the IP-address you gave the switch with the PST Tool.

Ammy Platinum Member Joined: 4/19/2008 Last visit: 11/21/2024 Posts: 1525 Rating: (159)	Hi INS, I am Using the ST (BFOC Connector) 2 meter long, & both the Scalance are just next to each other, I reach from WEB Management Software, tell me it I want to Communicate the 2 Scalance in Ring or Paarlle communication, What is the setting in the WEB Management software, I just want communication between 2 Scalance X204-2 on FO cable, the it be Ring or Tree. Please Sugest me the Settings in WEB Management
