Hello Ammy let me start by telling you something that you probably know already: All Scalance X2xx switches are so called "managed switches" which means they will require some form of configuration (giving them an IP address would bethe bare minium). If you haven't done the intial setup/config yet (i.e. switch is straight out of the box), I can honestly not tell you what the behaviour ofthe FO or RJ45 ports would be (I never tried this). Just in case you haven't done the intial setup yet, here is the link to the manual: Industrial Ethernet Switches SCALANCE X-200 / XF-200 Operating Instructions I also recommend that you install and use the Primary Setup Tool for the intial setup (Step 7 or DHCP can be used too, but the PST is a nice tool to have anyhow). In case you don't have it yet, the PSTwill be on the CD that came with the Switch, but the latest version can also be downloaded here: Primary Setup Tool (PST) As for your other questions:
Either should be fine unless you disabled one or the other in the configuration
Yes, but it is basically limited to enable/disable the ports
No, C-Plug is an optional extra who's purpose is to make the replacement of a faulty device easier. I hope this helps |
