We are battling to set up the SCALANCE X300 device (tried several) as an NTP client to a Windows PC NTP/SNTP server. The SCALANCE is configured in "polling" mode.

There seems to be no problem whatsoever the SCALANCE XM400 and W700 with the role of NTP client.

Has anyone been successful in setting up the SNTP/NTP Client role for a SCALANCE X300?

I have a Scalance 306 as NTP client against a NAS server with NTP service installed.

The 306 is a 6GK5 306-1BF00-2AA3 with firmware V4.0.0.

In the "Agent" menu "NTP" is activated.
In "Agent -> Time Config" i have set the Time Zone I am in.
In "Agent -> Time Config -> SNTP" I have set the SNTP setting to "Poll", and SNTP IP address and port to 123.
Init poll interval is 1000 and Poll interval is 5.

There is a Scalance 602 router between the NAS and the X306 so the X306 has the internal port of the S602 set as gateway ip and the port 123 is open in the firewall of the S602.

I guess I forgot to say so but yes, the above mentioned setup works.

I just noticed something in the settings in "Time Config".

In the "NTP client" I have the "IP address" of the NTP server entered and I do not have a checkmark in the "Enable Secure NTP".

I have the Poll Interval set to 20 seconds and I saw that this is the interval that the time is being synchronized with.

So check your settings here.
