SCL Code from Step / 5.5 to V12 (SOLVED !)

Bryll Posts: 168 Rating: (5)	Hello, I'm currently at a customers location, and got the information that I must use a couple of his FB's and DB's specially made for communication with a logging computer. The thing is that the SCL editor is quite different between the two versions. In the same SCL code has he declared several DB's each containing an array of the udt_Datatype. Since the editors are quite different, and me not so deep into V12 as I should be, do I need as much help here as possible. I actually tried to convert the entire project he gave me from 5.5 to V12, but it's not possible. The project needs to be compiled, despite it is compiled. V12 doesn't like this code they gave me. Thought I should be smart and copy the blocks over to my code after converting it to V12, but no.

Bryll Posts: 168 Rating: (5)	I have uploaded a picture of the error message I get when trying to migrate the project. How to declare an array of the udt type in V12 ? In the Step 7 V5.5 SCL code are all DB's and all FB's declared in the same window. Attachment ErrorMsg.jpg (151 Downloads)

hdhosseini Diamond Expert Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 12/5/2024 Posts: 6856 Rating: (1365)	Hello, It is possible to converst SCL codes from STEP 7 V5.5 to an executable version in TIAV12 with the following tool: Wizard for converting SCL source files from V5.x to V1x I can not guess the problem without checking your original STEP 7 project.If you have a consistent project in STEP 7, you can migrate it to TIA Portal version if you have both softwares at a same system. If this is not possible, try to recreate same situation with making a source file from elements inside the FB.Start from generating elements such as UDT and develop to other blocks. Bryll Posts: 168 Rating: (5)	Thanks for that I will use that one next time I have a similar problem. The problem got solved in an easy way. I created a diet version of the code handed over to me, with only the stuff I needed. Well it took me several attempts to success, it was allways something missing in my thinner project. But it was migrated with only a couple of warnings, so I'm quite happy at the moment Now will I only copy them into my running code, and see what happens.
