SCL: Passing DB parameter to MB_Master

salrandazzo Posts: 57 Rating: (8)	Hi, I think that a new section devoted to SCL should be created.... Going stright to my problem, I'm trying to switch from KOP Language to SCL. Now I have a "simple" problem. I'm trying to use the modbus system block MB_Master. I defined a modbus data block called Master_DB. I defined it as "300/400 mode", i.e. with the possibility for absolute addressing. This DB will contain the modbus holding registers image. When I try to define the DATA_PRT parameter of the MB_Master block, there is no way to pass the DB pointer. I tried with the symbolic db name "Master_DB", with the first element name "Master_DB".MB_Holding_regs.HR_01, with absolute addressing DB27 or even DB27.DBW0. No way, I Always get some kind of error message, something like "The data type Block_DB can't be implicitly converted into the data type variant". So I tried to use a variant variable, but I can't assign the DB pointer to the variant variable. How to handle a DB pointer with variant variable? How to pass it to the modbus MB_Master DATA_PTR parameter? Thanks a lot for your attention. Salvatore Attachment SCL_01.jpg (301 Downloads)
