sewot Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	to generate a sound alarm, i'm using smart object, window media player. whenever condition met, a tag will trigger the WMP to play a wav file. the sound is played all time until the condition change, which rather annoying. operator want to stop (acknowledge) the sound in a click. please help me write a script to stop window media player... thanks a lot for the assistance

sewot Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	yes, i read it before. actually i just tried to make it simpler. just put a smart object, then set it on a certain condition, let say; it will play a wav file whenever a tag (pressure tag) reach 100psi, it is working good!. the problem is: i put the WMP smart object invisible, so it's impossible to click stop/pause or mute button. is there any script to stop the wmp playing wav continously? thank you for helping ps: please don't suggest me to put WMP visible, i'm sure it is simplest way. because i don't want my display look "odd"...a music player on a plant display [:P]

So put the following script on your button : [code] Dim mplayer Set mplayer = ScreenItems("Control1") mplayer.controls.stop [/code] My button and media control are on the same PDL. If you have them on seperate pictures you will need to modify second line that gets a handle to the object accordingly. Salma

If yes, first thing to remember is that the script is not continuously running, just the sound file. So you would need two scripts - one that starts a counter and a second to issue the stop command. Again the easiest way would be to have the counter set in the PLC. So WinCC sets a boolean to high, this starts a counter in the PLC which after 10seconds resets the boolean tag to low. You then need a global action triggered when the boolean tag changes. It's first line would be to check if the tag is 0 and if yes to issue the stop command. If the PLC cannot do the counting you would need yet another global action that does this counting. So a couple of tags (one integer and one boolean) and three scripts OR you could just cut the wav file [:D]
