Hi Df4b IfI remember correctly, you can just plug out the pld Module and plug in the new module. You would not need COM-PP. Hope this helps Cheers Navnag |

Hi Df4b There are Several types of 2nd Serial interface available : a) PG Interface - ( Does not need COM-PP ) b) Comm. Interface ( V.24 / TTY / RS485/RS422 ) - for 3964R / RK512 / SINEC L1 etc. ( These Modules do require COM-PP for initial configuration. ) As long as you replace any module with identical module ( With matching Jumper Settings ), you should not have to re-configure it with COM-PP The COM-PP parameters are stored in DX2 and other Data Blocks which are normally included in the STEP5 program and loaded in the CPU using the Normal S5 program loading procedure. Therefore you would not need COM-PP in case of module replacement you only need these Data Blocks included in your S5 program ( Or in a Seperate .S5D file ). You can read the detailed information in the COM-PP Manual for CPU 928B/CPU948 : COM-PP for S5 135U/155U - MANUAL Hope this helps Cheers Navnag |
