Send ASCII characters over RS232 using SEND_PTP-block, problem!

I have a little project where I want to remote control a videoadapter over RS232 using the CM 1241 communication module. I just want to sent the command: "1Z" and "0Z" to the videoadapter. This must be very simple but still I want get it to work! Very frustraiting! I can't find any samlecode for this. I get the errorcode 8088 out of the SEND_PTP-block and that code is not described in the help file! See atteched printscreen Can anyone help me with this? Giuliano Posts: 21 Rating: (14)	Hi Danne, The error 8088 means "LEN parameter is larger than the memory area specified in DATA". In other words, the lenght taht you place in LEN parameter is more large than the data that you create for example inside of global DB. Hope helps.

Giuliano Posts: 21 Rating: (14)	Hi Danne, Firstly create a global DB (no symbolic access only)with a element like STRING declaration only. Then, in the Buffer parameter put this string element (e.g. P#DB2.DBX256.0). To avoid this 8088 error create a string element without size, use with full range (256bytes) In the REQ parameter like I0.1 and in the PORT parameter place the RS-232_CM. Cielo33 Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	So how do you set up the user data string to begin with? Where is it that I set up what characters will be sent? In the DATA block set up? And what is the P# mean? Is the LEN parameter a necessity in setting a SEND_PTP or RCV_PTP, if not then are there any other blocks associated with this command that need to be set up first? Thanks for any and all help!!
