Send / recieve sms with CPU313C / CP340 and MD720

olab Posts: 10 Rating: (2)	Hello, I'm a newbie of the simatic world I'm trying to send and reciew sms from my plc. I have downloaded a sample project from simatic web but I have problems with reciewing sms. The program seems to hang and recieves only the first part of the message. Does anyone have any idea what to do?? or maybe someone have a sample project. ob

olab Posts: 10 Rating: (2)	In fact, this is the application I'm using. Last night I found the problem but I have not been able to find a way to solve it. It seems to me like the problem is that the command AT+CMGD=x is sent twice to the modem. The first time the modem the modem deletes the message successfully, the second time the modem of course reports an error since there is no message to delete. I'm using the standard source for FB100 and can't really see the reason for the application to send this message twice. Rgards' Ola

olab Posts: 10 Rating: (2)	I finally found a way to solve the problem. It seems to me that the problem appear when deleting messages from the sim card after reading the message. By modifying the SMS_SEND block from the example project to delete all messages from the sim, the application finally work. Ola

kurtpep Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello! First, excuse my quite bad english. My name is Pierre; I'm a student in automation. I'm actually in a training period at "Centre Spatial de Liège" in Belgium. I'm trying actually to work the MD720-3 modem for the sending/receiving SMS. I'm using a CP340 to communicate with the modem and a SIM card including CSD data service. I've downloaded the documentation as well as the examples programs on Siemens website...I've tried all of them. I've scrupulously followed thes docs but nothing works. I'm sure that my HW configuration is good. The modem is initilizing, the Pin code is OK but when I set a bit to "1" to send a SMS, the "SEND" bit go to "1" but the "SENT" one stay at "0". The n_status bit stay at 1004 (=sening error). Same problem with the receipt. When I send a SMS to the modem (with my phone), the "SMS_receive" bit go to "1" and the n_status stay at "1003" (receiving error). So, my first question is: Are those sample programs functional ?? My second one: Does anyone else had the same problems ? Best regards //
