We are designing a 400H system in simatic manager with WinCC Scada station with Sequence of events recording for digital inputs. I did my research and chose CPU, IM and modules with time stamping feature. But all the documents relating to SER is storing the data in WinCC Station with help of Alarm 7B or 8P. I have an extra requirement of sending these alarms with time stamp to a DCS over modbus. Is it possible?How can this be done?

as I know MODBUS doesn't support timestamp data by itself.

But of course you can put a timestamp in any register to be read by the DCS / SER, but this is application specific and not a MODBUS feature.

Yes I understand that. What I want to know is that whether the SER data is stored in any DB of PLC or not. If it is directly stored in WinCC station, then we cannot send the data to another PLC/DCS, right?

the only place where it could be, is the instance datablock of the ALARM_8P or whatever block you use. But I can't see anything there. I guess it is not possible to "copy" the sent data from ALARM_8P and send it to a second destination.
