Sensor supplied by NPN-type input channel

Crozet Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hello Experts, I have some sensors which I am going to use on my project. Sensors works with 24VDC, all sensors are NPN-type and there are two wires for connection. I think these sensors are meant to be supplied by NPN-type input. Can I use these type of sensors with LOGO 24RC? Is there 24VDC between inputs and 0V if I connect 24VDC to p2-pin and 0VDC to p1-pin? Thanks again!!

Hook up 24VDC to one wire of the sensor, pass the other wire from sensor to your input. Make sure that the 24VDC which feeds your sensor is the same one which feeds theLOGO. NPN sensors are most in de - of the power, and that wont work well in the LOGO. But when you use a little resistor (aprox 1000 Ohm) between the + of the power to the digital input of the LOGO and connect the NPN sensor to that digital input of the LOGO and the - (Minus) power then it works. The value of the resistor depends on the karakterestiks of the sensor you want to use. Notice, in the program (LOGO-Soft) you must inverse that input of the LOGO, but thats no problem If you can, take en PNP sensor, most time it can connect directely to the LOGO!
