Hi .. (best way to start)

I am trying to capture a serial string using CM12the 41

I can get the data in to the PLC (1214C) BUT!!!

How can i "sniff" for a start text and then cature only that line in to a string (array off char to sting conversion) ?

Data string could be:

$GPRTE,1,1,w,0,*3F38505.93,N,01441.3

$GPVTG,062,T,059,M,00.0,N,00.1,K,D*2F0000,E,,W84*71N,,K*4AALR

$RAVTG,295.0

And why can i get 2 char's i an array (see attached) in the monitor window,when i monitor the buffer?

have a look at the IEC function blocks starting FC10 EQ_STRNG to FC20 LEFT.

You can use these functions to determine certain start strings. The IEC function blocks in the standard library provide a lot of string functions for working with strings.
