ok but pls think again about that first important thing, is your DCS compatible with Modbus RTU protocol? It isn't? What other protocol DCS can use over serial connection? Look, sry hard to recommend now something because you also probably not see also problem with interface on DCS, is RS-485 or RS-232 or? Then of course important question again, is your DCS Master or Slave in case of use Modbus RTU protocol? Pls answer these questions yourself and we can give you some Examples. Simply without to know what your DCS can do, you also waste time with some Examples which can not probably help you.

hmmm that's good info about that MB RTU functionality. Confused with Master/Slave role? Master in this case initiate request for specific data (f.ex. DCS send frame via serial interface to your PLC). You need in this case act as Slave (listen to requests and answer due that type of request). The situation can be also oposite, your PLC send requests (is Master) and wait for data from Slave (DCS). Look, in both situations knowledge of MB RTU protocol is mandatory, I recommend Smiffy's topic or good site - www.simplymodbus.ca where you can see how it working and perfect description of this problematic. In other side, some good applications which can be used for test on PC side, MB RTU Master and also Slave. Highly recommend, also that apps you can use in your test/familiarisation with DCS/PLC. Important thing again, you have RS-232 interface on DCS but CB1241 is RS-485 interface, this is different of course. Here you need use some device (adapter/converter) which adapt different signals due their port type. There are so many Adapters on market which do this f.ex. Moxa. You don't need to be confused, check that problematic and familiar with it. Our Forum can then help you with next questions.
