Hello all,

I want to use the MPI/DP port in the 315-2dp CPU to communicate on a profibus network but i dont know how to set it on DP in HW Config (i dont have acces to that like shone in the picture attached).

if any one can help me on that i will be gratful.

Hello hzj;

You are looking at the properties screen of your CPU, in HWConfig. In this screen you only see the MPI properties of the CPU.

Go back one level, until you see the hardware configuration of your CPU (in HWConfig) similar to the screencapture shown below. It is not exactly the same CPU but the screen should be similar.

There you can double-click on the MPI/DP interface (X1 in the rack) and then select Profibus; you cn set the bus address and the operating mode (master or slave) of the interface in that dialog box also, using the different tabs.

In the rack profiler i cant see what you have suggested, i just found DP under the CPU placement.

is this mean that the cpu doesn't support profibus in that port?

Ps: In the manual of the cpu it mention that i can use it, i'm a little bit confused.

In the screenshot below you will find technical data of your CPU showing the 2 connection interfaces:

Notice that:

- Interface 1 can only be an MPI connection;

- Interface 2 can only be a Profbus connection, either master or slave.
