Setting/Getting tags using C#

matholton Posts: 37 Rating: (0)	Hello All, I'm trying to convert an old VB app into C#. The VB app basically sets the values of several WinCC tags. The VB app used: Set Mcp = CreateObject("WinCC-Runtime-Project") and then Mcp.SetValue(TAG-NAME, TAG-VALUE) In C#, I have this: System.Type oType = System.Type.GetTypeFromProgID("WinCC-Runtime-Project"); object o = System.Activator.CreateInstance(oType); o is being created okay (I.E. it's not NULL) I then use this: w = oType.InvokeMember("GetValue", System.Reflection.BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, o, new object[] { "TAG-NAME" }); And this is where it falls over. The function appears to run but the return object w is NULL. Can anyone help me please? thanks in advance, mat

matholton Posts: 37 Rating: (0)	Thanks for that. The problem I had was that I was trying to set a tag that was linked to a non-existant PLC. I created a local tag and that worked fine.
