Setting up a S7 300 and HMI

Isbell Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello all, I am new to the forum and need some input. I am connecting a PG laptop to the S7 319 PLC with a MPI connection. I can connect and download a PLC program to the S7 319 PLC with no problems. I have a Profibus connection from the PLC to the HMI. When I try to download the Wincc project to the HMI it cannot connect. Is it possible to connect to the PLC with an MPI and connect the PLC to the HMI with a Profibus connection?

Hi there, Some of the older panels needed to be placed into download mode. ..if I remember correctly you could place it in "serial" download mode or "MPI" download mode. - - the point is.. it will be most helpful if we knew what HMI you are using with your "S7 319 PLC". Do however look into the suggestion that Ste39 made and let us know if this resolved your issue. Greetings. w

Isbell Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	The HMI is a 377 12" hope that helps, does it matter if the connection from the PC to the PLC is MPI and the connection from the PLC to the HMI is profibus?
