SF and BF faults in Simatic S7-400

Montegobay Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Is it possible for some one to help explain what the issue is with SF and BF fault on my processor. How do you reset such a fault. I have included the fault text file from the processor. Thanks in advance for any communications. I review some other threads but it does not seem to explain how to reset set this fault. miami Platinum Expert Joined: 8/31/2005 Last visit: 8/20/2024 Posts: 2198 Rating: (328)	You have a fault in a S7-400 and you are posting the diagnostics of a S7-317F Anyway, you have some (general) problem with you bus (PROFIBUS OR PROFINET) This causes the BF LED. This problems extend the bus timings, and this causes the f-modules to be passivated (F-Monitoring time exeeded) anddepassivated. If you solve your bus problem, this will work again. You may change the monitoring time (if you know the safety password), but this will change your safety signature and you may lose your validation. And you get diagnostic faults in the modules at IO-address 8149 and 8154. You should check this diagnostics inOB82.

It looks like the depassivating is automatic, something that is not the standard in Failsafe programs!
