Dear Exports,

I am facing an abnormal problem in IM153-2.

SF is coming irregularly  in both the IMs.

We have two redundant IM with 11 DI cards.

Sometimes during running or during idle condition of machine SF is coming and for which we are switching off the supply to IM and waiting for 1-2 minutes and again making the power on and after getting system ready.i.e. SF vanish.

In diagnosis buffer during SF fault its showing that module 10,11 is not available.Sometimes showing that 9-10 is not available. 

For this problem we have taken the following actions.

1.Changed all the active bus module.

2.Changed the profibus cable and connector.

3.Changed the supply of the IM modules.

4.Disconnected all the inputs to DI card 11.

But till the problem persists.

Plz advise what other actions to be taken.

Hi,

Interchange the IM sets of distributed station 1 & 2. Check whether the problem is with IM or station modues. If u have spare IMs, u can replace [just for testing].

Today again problem came...

Anyone faced this type of problems before?

We have changed both ims with another node..

But the problemstill persists..

Plz suggest if any other actions to be taken.

Is sf in im can be due to CPU?

If yes then memory reset could be the solution.
