SF on SM 338 module

Krish g Regular Member Joined: 5/12/2009 Last visit: 6/14/2022 Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hi All, In one of my project with PCS7 V7.1, i am having SM338 module (SM338-4BC01-0AB0) for absolute SSI encoder. I have done parameterisation for encoder in hardware configuration but still i am getting SF on SM 338 module. Encoder type- Leine and Linde (Module number-620922-01: Detail:RSA 608 63 ø6ro 10-30Vdc SSG Cable 5m Radial 25bit(1)) Attached are the screen shot of hardware configuration. Please let me know how SF can be removed and it encoder made to work. Thanks in advance. Attachment SM338.pdf (297 Downloads)

If you have only one, I noticed that your HW configuration containing two encoders. And according to the FAQ bellow: Entry ID: 23642062 If you retain the "13 bit" presetting for the disconnected channels, the wire-break and signal monitor registers an error. This is then reported as a diagnostics message and indicated by the SF LED. SM 338: how do you handle disconnected channels? Hope this helps.

Mike Jones Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Please make sure encoder is an SSI type, and not ASI. Also check for the correct connetions at the encoder and module. Are the clock & data signals correct. What does the diagnostic buffer say
