SFB 52 with Profibus MTS Temposonic sensor

pvervin Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello, I need to read data from a MTS Temposonic sensor with Profibus interface. I've already import the GSD file from MTS and add the device in my project (TIA V13). If I understand the SFB 52 function, I've to use the folowing parameters : ID = 278 INDEX = 68 MLEN = 1 Byte (See in MTS datasheet) RECORD = MTS_STATUS (Data type = Byte) on MTS_DB database This configuration didn't works, the var MTS_STATUS didn't change. Does someone have advice to fix my problem? I've attached snapshot of my project. Thanks Attachment SFB 52.zip (358 Downloads)

Does someone have advice to fix my problem? I've attached snapshot of my project. Thanks If you look down at your distributed I/O in the project tree, does your MTS sensor appear? If so, you can use a telegram with profibus cyclic communications and not have to use the Profibus wrrec/rdrec instruction blocks. With the portal, I do not know the SFC #'s. I go by the name of the block. I never worked with legacy step 7, so I cannot help with when referring by SFC #.

I looked in the distributed I/O section and I understood that I could directly access to I/O by the adress mentionned in the configuration page. Thank you for the advice I am glad MTS provides easy access to the essential data you need for your application. That telegram option really simplifies so much of the work getting things communicating and updating properly. You may want to look into the details of what happens if you unplug or power down the MTS accidentally while the process is running. If your telegram has a heartbeat or some way to show you it is working, that's all you need. For example, it might have a bit that is always a 1, and once the telegrams stop coming in, verify they are 0 so you can detect a communications problem. Otherwise you will need to check the diagnostic data for that I/O device and verify it is working. You can contact MTS Support for details on the telegram options as well as how to detect it is running. They have sample code as well.

But i could not communicate with sensor.i mean i am not getting feedback. can you please guide me to how to configure(parameterization) using telegraphic method?? I am a beginer in this regard and need spoon feeding.
