SFC14 returns 80B1

Elonen Bronze Member Joined: 4/11/2012 Last visit: 8/1/2022 Posts: 176 Rating: (32)	I have HD67563M profibus-ethernet gateway from ADF web (www.ADFweb.com). (The HD67563M is attached to another component through ethernet, but the PLC will see only the HD67563 module in profibus.) I have 319F-3 PN/DP PLC (order number 6ES7 318-3FL01-0AB0 / V3.2). The gateway is in input/output area starting from 3000, but the PLC process image ends around 2000. First I tried reading the data with PIB commands, and this seems to be working. However, since the gateway is configured to have 244 bytes of data, using the PIB and PQB is not practical. The gateway appears to consist of 4 different "ports", first 3 of them are 64 bytes long and 4:th is 52 bytes long. Total of 244 bytes. I have now tried reading data from the gateway using SFC14, but I can't make it work. The SFC14 returns 80b1, "The length of the specified destination area is not identical to the user data length configured with STEP 7". I tried a bunch of different lengths as my target area, I will attach a screenshot of them. In the screenshot is also picture of my hardware config, where this module is visible. These target area lengths I tested: 2, 4, 8, 10, 16, 51, 52, 64, 128, 244, 256. Only the area lengths 2 and 4 worked, with every other area length the SFC14 returned 80b1. My question: How is this possible? Is there something wrong with the module configuration? And how can the SFC14 even work with lengths 2 or 4? I have now tested all I can think of, why is the SFC14 not working? Attachment profibus.jpg (550 Downloads)

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello Elonen, the slaves doesn't support consistent data transfer. This is required by using SFC14. Have a look to your screenshot consistent per "unit". In yourcase you can access the values simple by block move SFC20.
