Hi, 

I'm having problem with my connection with SICK CLV630-6120 (Ethernet Type) with Siemens S7-1200 

The application will be; the scanner will send its data to PLC and the PLC will compare the data from the logs for sortation process.

We're not able to get the data from the scanner. 

Any suggestion or sample program that may help us? Just need to receive the data from Scanner via Ethernet Communication.

Information:

Barcode reader: SICK CLV630-6120

PLC: Siemens S7-1200 (CPU 1215C DC/DC/DC)

Ethernet switch: Scalance XB004-2

in case you have Ethernet (not Profinet) interface, you can use open communication with T instructions -

1. TSEND_C and TRCV_C

2. TCON, TDISCON, TSEND, TRCV

Look to documentation od reader, what system it use. You maybe need only listen on port and receive data or you need in other case send some requests and then you'll receive respected data due that requests. Via infos from documentation you need prepare your code. Hard to find exact example to this situation. I recommend for first (after know comm system) use PC as <PLC> Client and connect with suitable application to scanner. After that you can see incomming data or send required messages with also answers to see how it's working. Due this investigation you can prepare finale code to PLC.

With regards to my problem in communication between my CLV630-6120 Barcode Scanner and a S7-1200 1215C DC/DC/DC.

I took time in studying the parameters of my barcode scanner and I found out that it has a PROFINET IO On-Board. So, I replaced the setting to PROFINET IO instead of ETHERNET/IP.

The connection type of the barcode scanner is Ethernet Cable so, I connect it on the Port 1 (X1P1R) of my PLC.

Now,

I checked the "Online Access" of the TIA Portal V13 and when I searched for devices, I'm surprised to see that the CLV630-6120 came out on the search list. it means that the PLC can already see the barcode scanner.

Then, I started to download the GSDML File and the Function Block provided on sick.com then import it on the TIA Portal.

Next, I connected the 2 devices on the "Device and Networks" of the TIA Portal and start to program the downloaded function block. 

One feature of the function block is to conduct a Software Trigger via Command (PLC will trigger the barcode to conduct scanning procedure)

After that, I conduct a system testing/online testing and here is the result:

- When I monitor the connection of the devices, it is on the Green Indicator (does it mean connected?)

- I connected to I0.0 a photoelectric sensor to trigger the #Req parameter of the function block. When I triggered the sensor, the #ReqBusy turns ON and the barcode scanner didn't conduct a scanning and ends up in an Error stated (No action executed).

Do I still have regarding communication of both devices?

Please help me with this.

I already solved my problem!!

We are now able to get the data from our Barcode Scanner going to S7-1200.

Later on I will release a Step by Step Procedure to help others regarding these problem.
