SIck Laser Distance Measurement Sensors with SSI on a Sinamics

knutabru Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello. Do any one of you have any experience with using a laser in the positioning loop in the S120? I'm thinking about a Sick DME 5000-111 with SSI interfaceinterfacing a SMC 20 or 30 to convert the positionsignal to DriveCliq so the position can be used in the BasicPositioner. https://mysick.com/saqqara/pdf.aspx?id=im0008091 After reading some threads I'm unsure if I can get the Absolute position for the laser without having to do a synchronization on every power-up. For positioning a trolley, the accuracy of the laser are good enough. But will the position-regulator in the Sinamics act funny when the position from the laser are not fine resolution? zako_ Gold Member Joined: 5/22/2012 Last visit: 3/24/2022 Posts: 895 Rating: (67)	... see parameter p2506 if your linear encoder would have only a 1mm resolution, so you have set "10" there. The basic setting is µm resolution - so 10000 is the factory setting, which you can change like you need.

Sick DME500-111 + SMC30 -> Basic positioning S120. https://www.sick.com/de/en/distance-sensors/long-range-distance-sensors/dme5000/dme5000-111/p/p204082 Used directly in positioning the loop. Motor with encoder was also used for speedcontrol. Positioning is after calibrating absolut and also absolut after repowering. As understood, Application measurement is on stand still object. Speed and positioning is based on measurement to this objects. Knut can fill inn whenever time. Br Lars Stenmark
