Siemens 828d problem

Im having a few issues with the 828d control on a mitseiki cv-2000 (4 axis VMC) Ive had a mastercam rep do a post for me but the machine is not running as it should. We have G64 active but the machine is not giving continous path. for a simple 2d contour when the cutter rolls around a 90 degree corner, the machine is doing a stop at each quadrant of the arc. Another problem is a helix. it does not do the helix in the correct motion. for an xy ramp down it is moving in xz or yz. very strange. ive been using mastercam for many years and have never seen this. it seems that the machine is not looking ahead because even with a toolpath with many xyz movements at once, it struggles to keep the feedrate up. what are the active codes that i should have at the start of an ISO program? G Functions active are: G17 G40 G54 G64 G710 G90 G94 CFTCP SOFT CUT2DF DIAMOF COMPOF if any of these are incorrect how to i overide them? If someone could please help me on this that would be great.
