Siemens PLC vs NI PAC

In most of the engine test bench application they are using NI PAC Instead of PLC for torque measurement. Reason behind this is real time control of PAC and PLC is not having real time control? Is any Siemens controller which is having real time control?

I have worked with PACs from other manufacturers, and I have come to the conclusion that the term PAC is a marketing device, as well as the term "Reat-time control". I have not yet come across an industrial equipment that fulfills all these promises completely in real applications; i have met very few applications that could not be controlled adequately by PLCs. AutoGen_7739670 Joined: 9/2/2023 Last visit: 12/19/2023 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	PLC is controller based on a Processor, its need to involve in a cyclic processes to read, process variables, and shared results. In PLC the program code is saved int a memory. PAC is also a controller. But their processor is not a program structured based on a program memory, because they have an FPGA, to share the results of a logic, programmed directly into a millions of transistor arrays. By the way If we process some logic into conventional processor, this involves a lot of operational steps. But if we process the same logic into an FPGA, this could respond as the speed of the transistor arrays configuration. In the practice an FPGA is most efficient processor for complex data, and this is very accepted in to an experts systems, and complex systems operational codes. For example, aviation positional controls, and aeronautical controls, world class search engines, and other systems and demanding applications, mainly in real time deterministics controls.
