Hello SRITN; I have no idea about or experience with NI PAC. I have worked with PACs from other manufacturers, and I have come to the conclusion that the term PAC is a marketing device, as well as the term "Reat-time control". I have not yet come across an industrial equipment that fulfills all these promises completely in real applications; i have met very few applications that could not be controlled adequately by PLCs. For a more independant view of this issue, have a look at this article from Control Automation, a very respected control systems magazine: http://www.controleng.com/single-article/plc-vs-pac/44448cf771be09bff7115c621633bd94.html There are many, many other points of view expressed by various sources on the web, just look for "PLC vs PAC" if you want ot view more. Hope this helps, |
