Siemens S7 1200 and ABB ACS 550

Hi all,

I have a question regarding the use of ABB ACS 550 inverters with S7 1215 CPU. The idea is to control the drives via profibus communication using the RPBA-01 communication module and the CM 1243-5 Profibus DP Master.

I'm using TIA Portal V13 SP1, and installed the required gsd file of the RPBA and the the hardware configuration seems fine, meaning there are no errors. The next thing I did was configuring the drives so that they are controlled via communication (followed some ABB guides on how to configure them). After that I tried to use the ABB Drive Control FB from the official site http://new.abb.com/drives/connectivity/fieldbus-connectivity/profibus/profibus-dp-rpba. The problem is the block was written for Step 7 versions before TIA Portal. I managed to migrate a project with that library to a TIA Portal v13 project, but it says the blocks can't be used for S 7 1200 CPUs.

With his example a managed to start the drive but am unable to change the reference. So, if anyone has some experience with these drives, or can help me with the mentioned example, it would be much appreciated. My goal is to send start and stop commands with the option of changing the drives reference.

Did you resolve the issue using the ABB_DRIVE_CONTROL_FB and the speed reference.  I am having the same problem.  I am using Simatic Manager 5.5 and a S7-300.
