SIEMENS, SINUMERIK 810M running a cnc machine

Flekk Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	We have a SIEMENS, SINUMERIK 810M running a cnc machine Unfortunately the memory is very limited. As i have understood the Siemens cycles are protected subroutines. The 18 cycles occupy 16829 ch. We do not need these cycles and want to deactivate them in order to obtain more memory for the user programs. I do not know if a deactivation of the Cycles releases more memory for the user programs as i do not know how the memory is organized. If a deactivation releases memory What is the procedure to deactivate them. I cannot find any description in any manual.

On the other hand my idea of deactivating the cycles was that the cycles perhaps were loaded from the eprom into the accessible user memory and thereby occupying the precious memory Is it so ? Otherwise there is no benefit for me to try to "deactivate" ?

If the cycles are non standard i.e. if they have been modified they will have been copied from eprom to ram. The system then runs the one in ram. Normally they just reside in eprom and are not transfered so there is no benefit and it is not possible to delete them. Pee

Flekk Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Let us assume that the Siemens cycles residing in EPROM, on a Sinumerik 810M, GA1, dated back in 1990, are loaded into RAM whereby the space for user programs is decreased. I have a suspicion, this i the case. If affirmative, i suppose there must be a way of some bit settings, to deactivate ? How is the procedure to deactivate ?

If they are in the ram they have to be deleted to get rid of them there is no other way. If they will not delete they are in eprom or possibly protected. Either way the system will give you a message. If you are worried about deleting them then take a copy first. Pee

Rana Ali Posts: 110 Rating: (3)	Hi, you must be in select menu select program select if you donot need some part program delet these 1st than check if problem still show select iso mode than menu select ----satart up------manufacture password----program select----selet the cycle 18 and copy (move) in ATA card or pc (for your safety )----------after copy than delete it They will not reload on power up i hope your problem will be solved with best regard ali
